Running data analytics courses with the Chartered IIA
We are delighted to be able to announce a burgeoning partnership with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors to offer a range of new courses aimed specifically at Internal Auditors who are getting to grips with data analytics.
These courses will be run through the Chartered IIA and we hope to start running a full schedule from early 2019. There will be three courses available, aimed at different users with the Internal Audit Department.
Data Analytics for Audit Leaders – 1 day course
This one day course is designed for Heads of Audit to give an overview of data analytics on a strategic level. Focusing on the integration of analytics into the department, this course assesses the benefits of introducing analytics to the audit team, what measures need to be put in place, the various tools available as well as the skill set required as part of the team. We will also discuss how to use analytics to create and measure value.
Data Analytics for Internal Auditors – 2 day course
A two day course aimed at the Internal Audit data champion or any member of the Internal Audit team who will be working with data on a practical, day to day level. Attendees will leave the course with an understanding of the different types of data available and how best to work with each type. The course will also cover data handling best practices and methodologies, common test areas and standard analyses such as Benford Law. The course will focus on common business processes such as Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash as well key functions such as finance and HR.
Advanced Analytics for the Internal Auditor – 1 day course
For Internal Auditors who have completed the Data Analytics for the Internal Auditor course, the advanced course extends the use of analytics to areas such as continuous monitoring, data blending, machine learning, and predictive analytics. In this course we explain the future of data analytics and how Internal Audit can use analytics to add value to the organisation strategy.
We are obviously very excited about introducing these new training courses, which won’t focus just on software but the full range of analytics tools and techniques; from the people involved, processes, and best practices to follow. We are keen to bring data analytics to more and more Internal Audit teams throughout the UK so that they can benefit from the power of data.
We’ll be announcing more about these courses in the coming months.
