DataConsulting is now ISO 27001 certified!

We are very proud to announce that following a period of extensive audits, inspections and checks, we have achieved ISO 27001:2013 certification!

The certification was presented to us by ACM, a UKAS-accredited certification body, on the 17th of February 2020 and is for the following scope of activities: Data Analytical services.

What is ISO 27001?

ISO 27001 is an internationally recognised standard that describes best practice for an information security management system (ISMS), and certification demonstrates that an organisation follows the highest standard of data security best practices i.e. ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.

What does the certification mean?

The certification is evidence that DataConsulting’s information security infrastructure is of the highest standard and it proves we are committed to ensuring the appropriate, adequate and effective protection of our information and all assets associated, including the data our clients may share with us, or have already shared, to undertake data analytics.

How did we achieve it?

DataConsulting has always conducted itself in the most professional manner and we have provided our clients with the very best service we can offer for over 10 years. But, in this day and age, where data is key, we understand some clients require reassurance that the protection of their data is of the highest priority. Therefore, back in April 2018, DataConsulting took the decision to invest in strengthening its information governance process and has since:

• Developed and implemented robust but flexible information security policies along with simple but effective processes and procedures
• Deployed and integrated numerous controls and technology which help preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information
• Delivered countless information security awareness activities to sometimes unsuspecting, but always willing and professional, members of staff
• Conducted internal and external audits on those policies, processes and controls to ensure correct operation and effectiveness

All of which contributed to the creation and operation of DataConsulting’s information security management system and, along with other activities, will contribute to its continual improvement.

What does it mean for the future?

In light of this certification, we hope our current clientele and any future clients our endeavours may introduce us to can rest assured that DataConsulting is fully capable in delivering the highest security standards their data deserves, so we can continue to provide the services we love, data analytics.
