We’ve had a big summer of recruitment with three new colleagues already joining the team so far this year and our latest all star is Data Consultant Kathryn Ambrose. Kathryn has been with us a month and is soaking up the years’ of ‘experience’ that some of our more experienced colleagues have and she is already making her name for herself as a visualisation expert. We asked Kathryn to introduce herself.
Where do you come from?
I lived in Liverpool until I moved to Leeds for university. I liked Yorkshire so much, I ended up staying.
You’re the newest member of the DataConsulting Professional Services team, how do you feel?
After finishing my degree, I felt like stepping away from physics but I always enjoyed the analysis side of things. Working at DataConsulting gives me a chance to use data in new and interesting ways. I’m looking forward to learning ACL and becoming a bigger part of the team here.
Outside of work what do you like to get up to?
I’m a big football fan and go to Everton matches whenever I can. It hasn’t been rewarding as a fan the last few seasons but I’m hoping for a few more wins this year.
Who was your idol growing up?
Being a big football fan, my idols were always Everton footballers. Duncan Ferguson and Tim Cahill where two of my favourites growing up.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
I managed to tick a few things off my bucket list like skydiving and sailing. The next thing I try might be along the same lines. If not, I’ve always wanted to see the Northern Lights.
What’s your favourite film and book?
I pretty much grew up reading and watching Harry Potter. I still enjoy them now and I ended up visiting the Harry Potter studios a few years ago.
