ACL today announced that ARS Humano, the largest health insurance provider in the Dominican Republic, has selected ACL™ GRC, in combination with ACL’s Enterprise Continuous Monitoring Solution, as part of a program to strategically manage business risks. The integrated software system will streamline the internal control process, monitor and analyze high volumes of daily business transactions, and identify incorrect or suspicious transactions.
Headquartered in Santo Domingo, ARS Humano is a regulated health insurance company, the first of its kind in the country, with more than 12 years of experience in the health sector and more than one million members. The company specializes in providing flexible health plans and other related services through a network that includes major healthcare providers. Its services are backed by approximately 130 clinics, 125 laboratories, 100 pharmacies, and more than 3,000 physicians. ARS Humano was in need of a solution to analyze and control the large volume of transactions conducted across its wide-ranging network of partners and members.
“We were already aware of ACL’s powerful data analysis technology because our government regulator uses it,” said Franklin Trujillo, CFO at ARS Humano. “When searching for a comprehensive solution that would immediately flag problematic transactions, it was clear that ACL had the whole package, from the risk matrix to easy-to-read graphic reports.”
ACL’s integrated software delivers transformational governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) value by linking the outcomes generated by continuous monitoring activities to the risk and control context within which they fit. This enables informed decisions based on near real-time risk assessments that can be viewed on an organization-wide risk dashboard.
“As a healthcare organization, ARS Humano needs to ensure proper reporting and documentation in order to meet regulatory standards and provisions,” said Sabino Ramos, Regional Sales Director, Latin America and the Caribbean at ACL. “Maintaining accuracy and efficiency are crucial components that allow its executives to sustain a well-run business and maintain focus on delivering the high-quality services to members, for which they are known.”
