One of the sessions I attended while in Atlanta was on ACL GRC which is ACL’s cloud based product focussed on providing a data driven GRC solution. I was impressed by the usability of the product and its seamless integration with the core ACL analytics products: ACL Analytics and ACL AX. The GRC product comprises Risk Manager (formerly ACL Risk), Project Manager (formerly ACL Workpapers) and Results Manager. The Risk Manager allows you to plot your organisation’s risks and score them according to severity. The Project Manager allows you to document the efforts being made to address the risks i.e. through audit and other initiatives and finally the results manager allows you to track the results of analytics that have been executed to support some of the audits being carried out.
The Atlanta audience had lots of questions for ACL on the product but the feedback generally seemed very positive. Although my experience has generally been in the audit analytics area I’ve not had many good words said about electronic working paper solutions, the ACL GRC cloud based system certainly seems fresh and lacks the heavyweight nature of some of the audit working paper solutions currently on the market.
