Graduate Testimonials

To give you an insight to what life is like at DataConsulting meet Bes, one of our experienced consultants, and Sam, a relatively new Graduate Data Analyst here at DataConsulting.

Since joining DataConsulting I have learnt a tremendous amount about data analytics and the business environment. Training with experienced colleagues and direct exposure with clients has helped me to advance not only the relevant professional skills but also the practical business skills.

At DataConsulting the graduate program provided me not only with the training but also with the opportunity to develop the skills on a more hands on approach. I have been on many client engagements from developing data analytic solutions to training users with ACL. DataConsulting colleagues have given me great guidance and support, this has enabled me to continually develop my skills and take on more project development responsibilities.I am thoroughly enjoying working at DataConsulting, where I am further developing my skills and each day is providing me a deeper understanding into the working world.

If you have an interest in IT and Accounting whether it’s a technical interest as a programmer or from an information systems point of view as an analyst, then I would definitely recommend DataConsulting to you.

~ Besjona Bega, BSc Accounting Graduate, Manchester Business School 2012

I have really enjoyed my time at DataConsulting so far; Robin, the managing director, and indeed the entire DataConsulting team, have taken a great interest in my development as a data consultant. Robin in particular has been heavily involved in my training and this has led to a lot of contact hours – something that would have been unavailable to me in a larger company.

After only 6 working days on the job I found myself in a car with Robin to go and present an ACL demonstration to a multinational insurance company. The presentation used actual data from this company, with the analytics performed in ACL by myself. There was also the opportunity to have a creative input into the layout of the presentation and I even found myself presenting a short section. This was a big responsibility early on and gave me a great chance to show what I am capable of.

Since then I have been involved in many other projects and I feel I have picked up a lot of business intelligence and analytical skills quickly, thanks to DataConsulting. There has been opportunities to work on a large variety of projects from a short project investigating irregularities in expenses to a 5 month long project identifying and remediating customers of a large multinational bank.

However, it has not been all work and no play. On my second day several of us went to a local restaurant for a lunchtime meal to welcome me to the company. There has been numerous trips out, whether it be for a lunch time coffee or a meal with a client. The DataConsulting team have been welcoming and helpful throughout my (short) time here and I am looking forward to working here for many years to come.

~ Sam Ford, MMath (Integrated Masters in Mathematics), Newcastle University 2015
